What medicinal mushrooms are there?
Mushrooms belong neither to the animal nor the plant kingdom. They form a distinct genus and have developed intelligent survival strategies over millennia. Medicinal mushrooms are particularly remarkable because they contain valuable compounds that can promote greater well-being. One of the best-known medicinal mushrooms is Reishi – a versatile all-rounder. It is widely used and valued as the "mushroom of immortality." Other medicinal mushrooms include Cordyceps, Agaricus, Hericium, Auricularia, Maitake, Pleurotus, Polyporus, Shiitake, Enoki, Chaga, Coriolus, and even the popular and well-known button mushroom, which is a medicinal mushroom and contains beneficial compounds.
What is mycotherapy?
The method of working with medicinal mushrooms is called mycotherapy and is now offered by numerous alternative practitioners and physicians. In Asia and European monasteries, practitioners have been using these valuable medicinal mushrooms for thousands of years.
How do medicinal mushrooms work?
To ensure that more valuable ingredients can be better absorbed by the body – making them more bioavailable – we process medicinal mushrooms into powder and extract capsules. We harvest only the pure fruiting body, which grows in untouched nature, and predominantly sun-dried. The medicinal mushrooms are then crushed and pulverized using a special shell-broken process. This preserves a broad spectrum of ingredients, but some of the valuable polysaccharides/beta-glucans cannot be processed because they are protected in the mushroom powder by chitin cell walls. The human body does not have chitinase to break down chitin. Therefore, we additionally release these mushroom-typical polysaccharides from the cell connections through extraction, thus releasing concentrated polysaccharides and beta-glucans in our extract capsules. Both medicinal mushroom concentrations have their own advantages. Please read more detailed information on our Quality page.
What dosage forms are available?
We offer concentrated extract capsules. Powder is ideal for mixing with food, and the meal is used as a tea. Liquid medicinal mushrooms are suitable for people with swallowing difficulties or for those with high concentration needs. The correct dosage form and concentration determine your personal well-being. It's best to consult a therapist. All dosage forms at a glance .
