Zinc Complex Capsules contain high levels of highly digestible zinc as organic zinc gluconate in combination with the amino acid L-histidine and vitamin C.

The trace element zinc is involved in countless functions in the human body. These range from the activation of many enzymes, the maintenance of the immune system and genetic information, to its antioxidant properties.

Zinc is one of the most important trace elements in the human body. The body contains approximately two to three grams of zinc, making it the second most abundant trace element after iron.

Skeletal muscle, bone tissue, as well as skin, nails, hair, ovaries, prostate, and testes, contain the highest concentrations of zinc. The average absorption rate in the intestine is 20–30 percent. Absorption rates increase with increased demand due to growth or pregnancy. However, the body's available zinc reserves are very low. Since approximately 300 enzymes in the human body are influenced by zinc, this trace element is involved in countless functions in the organism.

Because it is essential for normal synthesis of genetic information (DNA) and cell division, zinc plays a major role in human growth and maturation. It also contributes to normal fertility and reproduction. Zinc is important in carbohydrate and fatty acid metabolism, as well as in normal protein synthesis, macronutrient metabolism, and acid-base metabolism.
