Triphala extractis a mixture of the Indo-Asian plants Terminalia chebula, Terminalia bellirica, and Phyllantus emblica in a 1:1:1 ratio. These are also known as the royal fruits of Ayurveda and, due to traditional beliefs, are also used in modern lifestyles.

Terminalia chebulaContains anthraquinones, tannins, chebulic acid, phytosterols, resins, and numerous fatty oils. Terminalia bellirica is also rich in tannins and anthraquinones. Important constituents of Phyllantus emblica, in addition to vitamin C, include nicotinic acid, riboflavin, mucilaginous drugs, indoleacetic acid, procyanidin, lupeol, tannin, polyphenols, alkaloids, and phyllantin.
