Glutathione capsules

Glutathione Mono contains reduced or active glutathione (GSH), as the active form is called. It is present in every cell of the body and is formed in the liver from glutamic acid, glycine, and cysteine.

Glutathione is a protein compound composed of the three amino acids cysteine, glutamine, and glycine. Glutathione is present in high concentrations in almost all cells of the body. It can be produced in the human body in the liver from the aforementioned non-essential amino acids or it can be obtained through food. Glutathione is found in many fruits and vegetables, such as avocados, asparagus, potatoes, oranges, tomatoes, broccoli, zucchini, and spinach.

Glutathione deficiency is very rare in healthy individuals, but certain conditions, such as increased stress, malnutrition, medication use, infectious diseases, and strenuous physical activity, can reduce the body's own synthesis of glutathione, or the need for glutathione can increase. With increasing age, the ability to synthesize glutathione decreases, and at the same time, it can be absorbed less effectively from food.

Glutathione plays an important role in health, for example, in the body's antioxidant defense system. Antioxidants are compounds that react with free radicals before they can destroy or alter body cells. Because free radicals are constantly produced during all metabolic processes in the body, as well as through external influences (e.g., smoking, UV radiation, disease), they can lead to the formation of oxidative stress.
