Some nuts, such as hazelnuts and Brazil nuts, also have high calcium content.

Those who consume little or no milk and dairy products, or who cannot consume them due to lactose intolerance, should pay particular attention to ensuring adequate calcium intake. A consistently high calcium intake is essential for a lasting effect on bone density.
