Oligomeric proanthocyanidins (OPCs), also known as polyphenols, are secondary plant substances and belong to the group of flavonoids. They are found in leaves and bark, for example, and play an important role in protecting the plant from UV radiation and strong light.

Particularly noteworthy are the polyphenols extracted from grape seeds. They support the protection of cells from oxidative stress. OPC grape seed extract is rich in valuable polyphenols.
